Thou shall not touch....

So to say I am protective of baby boy is an understatement. I love my hubby and Son fiercely and although I am learning to be a bit relaxed, this lioness has to growl and show some teeth sometime.

For example...

So last Saturday, I was in church with Hubby and baby boy rehearsing for an upcoming drama presentation. I usually carry baby boy around ( If you see a young hawt mama with a baby on her back naija style, it's probably me!) but I have been trying to be strong and let him run around and explore alone( but dont be fooled, wherever that boy is, I have an eye on him...even when I am looking into another person's eyes in conversation, at least 0.000001% of my eyeball is on him);but I do try, you know, give him a sense of independence

A Mother's Eyes

Well while he was running around, from the corner of my eye ( you know, that 0.000001%...lol)I noticed that a church lady had given him a potato chip. First of all rule 149 in the baby handbook is that you always ask a mom permission before giving food to a toddler who can not speak. So being the gentle, caring, loveable soul that I am, I got up and started screaming " Noooooo, he is allergic to that!! He is allergic to that" Let me tell you, that Church lady almost had a heart attack! When I saw the fear and her almost losing control of her bladder, I laughed a bit and calmly said...."No, I was kidding but you never give toddler's food without asking the mom first". I had a smile on my face but my eyes were dead serious, so she knew I wasn't kidding.

Protective Mother

Why did I do that?
1-What if he really was allergic to the food?
2-I don't know where her hands have been
3-I do not want my son getting use to taking food from strangers.

Anyway,I guess I shouldn't have bothered because baby boy took the chip broke it into pieces and gave them back to her....lol. That's a home trained Boy jare...lol

PS: During this whole incident, hubby knowing the wife he had just quietly looked away, as if he wasn't in the room! He knew I was going to deal with the lady for what she did.

hahaha! that's hilarious. you're a proper mommy! I'm glad you're watchful. As they say, charity begins at home. So you groom them how you want.

You are one good mummy and those eyes of yours see well well o, I can imagine you almost wanting to fight the lady, even if I know it's not your nature but remain small for you to tell the lady to ask you next time...Good job on raising a well trained boy!

Ha ha ha ha, too funny. I like the way you scared the lady. "Nooooo, he is allergic to that."

Lol! That's funny! Over the summer, some auntie was stuffing my the 7 month old with biscuits! I wasn't impressed. People just don't get it. I'm not as bold as you though...
