Inthemidstof….His Perspective: We are afraid too.

*Ladies and Gentlemen….

Emphasis on the word “Gentlemen.”

As you all know Inthemidstofher has ALWAYS been for the Ladies and by God’s grace will continue to be so but as of lately, I’ve noticed that I’ve not been showing our brothers much love. As a lady who was fathered by a man, given salvation by a man, is a sister to three men,  married to a man and has had the privilege of giving birth to a future “man”; I think its due time I right this wrong and show some love. I have come to know some stellar christian men who are more than worthy of some attention and it is honestly a privilege to be part of that movement! Without further ado…. I would love to introduce  "Inthemidstof…His Perspective” This is a short series I will be doing which will focus entirely on our Christian men but of course it will be of benefit to my ladies out there. How better to get into the head of our Christian men than by knowing their perspective on issues. To do this, I polled some great christian guys about what they wished the single woman knew about them. I am already giddy with excitement. Ladies, trust me, you will enjoy this as much as the men so don’t leave me yet.

Enough yarning…. Let’s get down to business

                                        ------------------------------------------------------------

Myth: When it comes to matters of the heart, men are not afraid.

Truth: We get scared too
1Kings 2 vs 2: Be strong and show yourself a man…
Noah built an ark and saved the world,  Moses led the people through a sea,  Joshua tore down a city with his voice, David faced Goliath with a pebble, Jesus died on a Cross….
Men have been doing hard things from the beginning of time; taking charge of many a situation and as Christian men, we are constantly reminded and expected to do the same.

Talk about pressure.

Struggle

Some of us grew up in homes without fathers, some of us have been broken, abused, misguided, jaded, lost, struggling yet we are ALL held to the standards you have created for us.We are expected to fight wars, win hearts, lead families and ultimately be willing to sacrifice ourselves for what we believe in.

Truth: We are struggling...
2 Corinthians 4: 8-9,16: We are pressed on every side by troubles but not crushed. We are perplexed but not driven to despair. We get knocked down but not destroyed. Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing...

Help me

Besides the world screaming the futility of masculinity and home fronts sending us out unprepared, we have our own insecurities to deal with. We don’t wake up each morning feeling we have what it takes to find you, love you or even man enough to keep you let alone lead you. Just like you, we are worried; in fact scared, we’ll never find you, afraid to make the wrong choice, marry the wrong one and worried we’ll be the greatest regret of your life.

Truth:We are still trying…
Ephesians 4 vs 2: Be completely…gentle; be patient, bearing with [in] love.
Time

So all we ask of you is to be patient with us, encourage us, let us know when we do things right and not only when we do things wrong. Pray for us, ask God to strengthen us to be the person you need us to be.  Know us, understand us, emphasize with us that while we do desire to do the right things, we often stumble. Some of us are just learning to be men.

We are trying, working, praying and walking this road  with the joyful expectation that we’ll be at that crossroad waiting for you at the appointed time God has for us to meet.

Say a prayer for a brother….we need it!

the post reminds me of the sensitive side of men that they rarely share. I keep seeing posts about relationships though I have truthfully given up on them. maybe God is trying to tell me something...
