State of the Union....

(Press Play Button)

If the topic made you think this was going to be about politics; sorry! This is definitely not about the state of any political union but the state of the marriage union. I have always viewed my marriage as a company and like any other company, in order to grow and be productive, I have to be willing to audit my relationship and see what is working for and against my marriage.

Two People - Business Meeting

In this episode, I share a communication and relationship evaluation technique the hubster and I have used to strengthen our marriage.

Isaiah 1 vs 18:Come now, let us reason together...

hmmmm...Hubby and I actually have this SOTU meetings, and I've experienced it going both ways in the end (i.e. good and bad)...it certainly makes for a healthier relationship as u have rightly pointed out, if done in love and with consideration for our spouse...I agree with u that we should chose our words carefully as they can make or mar...

Excellent post...thanks for sharing...I've certainly learnt something.

AP-Thanks for your encouragement! You are abs right! SOTU's can go either good or bad but I think its partly dependent on a whole lot of things besides the fact that you are having a SOTU. For ex, I don't start these when either one of us had a rough day, either one of us (but esp me..lol) is hungry or when baby is up to his antics. I let wisdom and not emotions guide me.

Doll:Hehe... Keep in in your arsenal, you are one step ahea dof the game!

I LOVED this post SO MUCH. Ha ha ha. I particularly liked how you used scriptures to emphasize the agenda of SOTU Meetings...(and I love the acronym, SOTU). Lol.

"But one thing I can guarantee you...if you become emotional (crying, arguing, screaming) the next time you want to have a "State of the Union" discussion, your husband will run for his life."

PREACH!!!

I love how you use the scriptures to back each topic, it says alot about the type of woman you are.

Hubby is blessed because I know for a FACT you have sown positive seeds in his life. You are a woman of God that has alot to teach this generation.

I am definitely learning...

Thanks for sharing.. xxx
