The Gift of Forgetting...

(Press Play Button)

Phil 3 vs 13 (NASB): …Forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward…

Looking back at my life, I have gone through a lot and accumulated things I no longer want to remember; both things done to me and things I have done to others.

In this episode, I discuss the gift of forgetting and why it is important to leave some relationships in the past.

Right now, I would so love to have a memory that remembers every single good moment I spent with my Papa, my Prof. I really would. But you know, you are right? I am so happy I don't have it because now I struggle to recall the bad moments.... it's like all I had with him was good times and I know it is not true but somehow, God and Time have 'erased' them now....and that brings me joy...

Thanks Inthe....

Hmmm.. I think I need this right now... I seem to enjoy courting memories of the past even when it is dangerous waters.. I really do pray for God's grace.
Thank you dearest InThe xx

My memory falters when it's something painful...I choose to forget because I don't like hurting

OMG !! I am so not alone. Reliving painful memories is so my forte.

God help me

soo true. taking this from the angle that affects me right now, struggling with hurt and releasing forgiveness even when apologies have been rendered, or forgetting(I like to think that I have forgiven) but thoughts about issues really hurt esp when its fresh, and this isn't in relationships but even in my friendships.i pray for God's grace to let go and forget

On my way home form work today, I started thinking about an ex... how things should have been different etc but then "drive-bys" from this post popped into my head and I stopped myself immediately, thank God.
Thanks again for this post. Just wanted to share even though I had already commented. I'm determined to be conscious and alert to this with the help of the Holy Spirit; no more drive-bys allowed in my heart :)

Yeah there are some memories i wish I can remember but I definitely do not want to remember any of the sad and hurting ones.

I have to say sometimes I go over things that have occurred in the past and keep thinking and thinking about the rather than leaving them in the past. I must always remember to move on from the 'scarred tissue' . Thanks InThe..
